Memorable Locations to Visit During Alaska Vacations

   An adventure travel vacation to Alaska is one vacation that is certainly an unforgettable experience. The memories and experiences will linger in traveler's memory for years. One highlight of the terrific Alaska adventure vacation will likely be the Prince William Sound where you can see wonderful mountains, glaciers and a fascinating marine life. Additionally, its three port cities offer the best in services for visitors.

   The Alaska Marine Highway is another fun experience where a ferry service can transport you from one port city to another, including the locations of Valdez, Whittier and Cordova. This service makes your trip not only enjoyable but also quicker and affordable. You will enjoy exploring this vast state in which you will find unforgettable beauty everywhere you go. There are so many sights to see and places to visit that you probably will not be able to fit everything in one trip.

   A good place to start is Cordova where it is recommended that you spend at least a few days. You can enjoy some fishing in the enchanting and picturesque port. For some adventure, you could visit the National Forest Trails where you will find gigantic rainforest trees, glaciers, marine life and even some sea otters. Accommodations at Cordova are the standard hotel fares with views of the beautiful ocean. Other lodging options might include an old cannery nicely situation in an adventure lodge. The atmosphere at the old cannery is quite charming providing an experience not to be found in large hotels. This is a good deal for anyone seeking a memorable experience from day to night.

   From Cordova, you can head over to the Marine Highway and sail the Port of Valdez for some more adventure. Termed the "little Switzerland," you can enjoy the magnificently high mountain ranges. You should then travel down the Richardson Highway where you can see waterfalls, towering mountains circling the road and beautiful glaciers.

   In the mountains, you will move away from the coastline and into a world engrossed with an abundance of evergreens. You will then reach Glennallen where the highway turns to the edge of the Chugach Mountains. From here, you will find yourself in Mat-Su Valley and then south to Parks Highway as you head back to Anchorage. By this point, you will have enjoyed a weeks worth of Alaska adventure and nothing short of an unforgettable vacation. The beautiful scenery and charming sights will remain in your memory, though more than likely you will already be looking forward to your next visit.
